China manufacturers are excellent in flexibility which results in competitive pricing, globally. Apparently China manufacturers employ technologies far advanced than other low cost manufacturers in high end segments including digital still cameras, PDAs and the like.

-China Manufacturers – Technology Orientation

If the consumption of integrated circuits (IC) is anything to go by, we can deduce that China manufacturers are shifting towards sophisticated products so that they can differentiate themselves from other low cost manufacturers. At the concept level, they are balancing fundamental elements of product design such as quality, reliability, performance, besides price. They export components and sub-assemblies to reduce cost and time input which works constructively for them. China manufacturers engaged in the production of high efficiency products have embarked upon a mission to differentiate their products from low efficiency products for qualitative purposes.

Deep down, the cheap resources supported by efficiency in management combined with exemplary marketing skills which justify pursuing China manufacturers. Spare a thought to it, if not for the core principles of product development and quality consciousness, the rise of China manufacturers couldn’t have been possible so much and so fast. The heated competition and sharp market awareness is causing importers, not excluding small distributors, to come to China manufacturers as they are perceived as being capable of providing cost effective quality products.

China Manufactures

Body:

China manufacturers are unvanquishable on price front and excellent in flexibility because of their arguably lowest resource costs in addition to the new found scientific management and optimization skills that once were considered domains of American SMEs. The aggressive China manufacturers are also sophisticated that they don’t get into production on mere speculation barring a few circumstances wherein they are backed by huge corporations. More and more high-end sectors are being overhauled by China manufacturers and advanced technologies are being employed. Home entertainment, PDAs and household appliances are a few examples.

There are online and offline databases for China manufacturers and most of these are industry specific, like the one you have in China Manufacturers Alliance (CMA) which represents most tire manufacturing companies of China under. While choosing a general database may present you with countless options, industry specific directories can be assumed to be more authentic both in their choice of credible manufacturers/suppliers and extensiveness. For example, the electronics and computer manufacturers’ directory lists over 55,000 companies which are confident of meeting your needs.

Manufacturing Journalist Tr Cutler Finds North American Manufacturers Peg 2008 Profits to Europe

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Manufacturing journalist recently profiled, “The value for North American Exporting to Europe Proves Manufacturing Profit Center for 2008” in the current issue of AutomationMedia.com

According to Cutler, “The dollar, having steadily lost value against major currencies over the past few years, has helped exports; the weak dollar will only continue to make local goods more affordable around the world and give exporters an advantage against otherwise competitive European rivals. From technology manufacturing companies to medical devices manufacturers, all are poised to experience significant international sales benefits in 2008 as long as the marketing support tools are positioned and measurable.”

Economic experts predict that this recent trade surge (notably in the third and fourth quarters of 2007) are only the very beginning of a long climb that could eradicate a major portion of trade deficits; regardless of rising oil imports, exports are three times larger than residential construction as a share of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Manufacturers’ Homes

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Houses manufactured in factories are one of the options to be considered by a buyers considering a new home ownership. The developments in the offsite-built home industry created significant improvements to the safety and comfort of manufacturers’ homes. As a result, all other segments of home industry, including skeptical insurance and financial services, have created programs enabling new home buyers to use these homes as collaterals.

Initially, houses manufactured in factories were cheap alternative to a site-built residence. Their practicality, low price and maintenance were the factors which caused their popularity. People with dynamic lifestyles saw the manufacturers’ homes as the right choice.

As time passed, the factory-built homes became bigger and bigger. Single-wide mobile homes were replaced by double-wide and tripple-wide manufactured homes. As a result, the transportation of these homes became more and more complicated and costly. The easy-to-relocate concept of mobile homes era became an obsolete idea. Nowadays, manufacturers’ homes undergo a lot less transportation than in the past.

As a purchasing manager of a manufacturing company you ought toanalise the business environment in which the company operates and identify its relevant needs. On a macro scale the manufacturing industry can be divided into low tech industry (food, consumable, home products and as such) and high tech industry, that includes electronics with its subsidiaries, advanced medical equipment, industrial digital printing, micro-electronics and as such. On the micro scale the difference between the two types of industry is prominent in the precision level, finishing quality, reliability, repeatability and general quality level.

Different manufacturing technologies tailor to different needs:

Milling operation – designed to make high precision parts, good for medium and small runs due to minimal NRE (Non-Recurring Expense). Despite that, the process is characterized as of high price due to prolonged time to manufacture one part and extensive material use.
